Looks like it will make it guys : https://twitter.com/The_Americat/status/1204577661248589824
Jeez can we stop with this. This horse has been beaten to death then raised again and again!
Which justifies why it is needed!
If it really is the solution, it would have been passed already, clearly it's not the solution.
Does that mean big countries like India and China will be assigned less visas?
No, it means almost all green cards will be assigned to indians in next 10 years
This is actually untrue and in fact not even close to true. If you actually read the bill text or heck even just the summary - you would notice a no harm clause.
TC or GTFO. Never felt more apt to write this than here .. “Skills have nothing to do with where you were born”.
Than*, "with where"*
Thanks . Corrected. Should have typed it in German
Never gonna pass in a million years. But hey, need that big fat donations from backlogged indians right? 😂😂
Also the Twitter poster is a bit of a troll. So I'd consume this with a huge bucket of salt.
How can this shit get passed via UC when it has been blocked so many times? How can it be UC?
Indians are already dominating H1B visa lines, and this will lead to GC domination. The bill is imbalanced.
Rephrasing your statement: Indians (and Chinese) are already dominating world population, and this will lead to <insert your fav topic> domination. The earth is imbalanced.🙄
Indians contain <20% of the world population but occupy >70% h1b. The backlog is not simply a population issue but outsourcing companies abusing.
D&I people D&I .. cornerstone of every successful team and company. If someone is saying diversity is not important at workplace he/she is Indian .
Wut 🤔
Says someone who works for a company who blatantly paid women significantly lesser than men. Your culture and values align with your company. So: before saying D&I get the F out of Larry’s Lair
I don't really care whether this bill passes. But it's interesting to see how much people fear competition. First, it was all outsourcing companies abusing the system. Till it became obvious that the biggest and most powerful tech companies were the main lobbyists for this bill and had a disproportionately high number of Indians. Then, Indians were cheap labor. Till the average income by nationality graphs came to light. Then, apparently Indian managers only hired other Indians. Not much people can say about this without disclosing org structure... But strangely Indian managers are becoming CEOs all over the place, so maybe they don't take that kind of biased judgment? People complaining the H1B ratio is disproportionately high wrt the number of Indians, isn't that also true for students at top universities? Those top universities already try to diversify their student body, because profit isn't as much of their primary motive. Maybe just learn to compete under fair conditions, and stop thinking of nationality and coming up with whatever excuse benefits you?
Lol. This has to be the dumbest comment ever. The kind of indians you are talking about are the minority (30%) . Rest 70% are still earning 60k pretax, running auto QA all day with a bachelors degree from india. And if You doubt my numbers, do the calculation of indians in FAANG vs bodyshops. If faang hire 5000 indians, bodyshops hire 15000.
So those "bodyshops" would be able to exploit Indians for "cheap labor" less if they had a clear and quick path to a green card, right? Is it not in your favor to have a bill like this pass, to even out the system going forward? Moreover, you do realize if they set a minimum salary for green cards, they'd still get most of them? And you'd cry foul regardless, claiming that their Indian managers didn't give you a chance? Your argument does not make sense with respect to salary statistics. Moreover, people are whining all over the place that they're taking all the "good" jobs. If they're so good, maybe they got it by the sweat of their brow? Stop inciting hate against a group and gaslighting all over the place just because you're afraid of competition. Human beings inhabit this world together and the concept of "borders" was a product of small minds.
