I solved both questions optimally. Implimented the first one and also most of the the second one (until the interviewer said he gets it and can move on to questions because of time). Still a reject. The interviewer even made sure to stay 5mins longer after the last 5 mins to answer if I had any other questions (which i thought was a positive sign). I thought it went well overall and the interviewer seemed nice. I am so puzzled by the reject. Possible bias from internalized racism? I am gasping at the straws. #interview
Probably hiring freeze for that position.
which question is this
Similar experience at FB. They are super nice to you during the interviews. One interviewer even said, see you at FB at the end of my interview. Later I came to know from my recruiter that he gave “no hire-low confidence” score to me. They are good at giving wrong signals.
How lond did you have to wait before getting your feedback? Hours, a day, weeks or months?
A week
If you don't finish two questions optimally implemented on time, very little chance of getting through. Especially during Covid when everyone's available in the market.
Possibly
Whats the level of questions ? Were they hards ?
Easy medium
I faced the same thing. The interviewer was damn good and made sure my hopes are through the ceiling. And then recruiter reached out saying "interviewer feedback as low."
I was asked one medium and one hard in 45 min time frame (phone interview.)
All the answers above are pure BS. FB is very data driven. They don’t care you memorized or not. If you were able to write clean code and explain it well and discuss the time complexity and solve 2 problems. You should surely get through. And no racism for sure.
you make some mistake and you don’t even know
Asked for feedback but they wouldn’t give it
it is rare they give feedback
Did you have the answer memorized?
I had solved those problems before
If you didn’t tell them that and they felt that you knew the problem that could be a reason why. Sometimes if u tell them at the beginning the interviewer will let you do your thing, others might want to find another problem. They do want to see you try to solve a problem that you have not seen.
