In this context, there is no diff btw people and positions. We have 112K ppl, announced 2.5% cut, and the calculator confirms that’s right around 3K people. 10K ppl would be a 9% layoff which this is not

Why tf does a company bother when it's only 2%? A huge cost for insignificant savings
Because they are trying to avoid layoffs.
They literally didn't though. That's the announcement. So they'll be back in 2 months with more.
