I have an upcoming interview for Software Engineer role at the Amazons Alexa lab in Sunnyvale. Any suggestion on how prepare and what to expect during the interview?
You can expect some background questions relevant to the “leadership principles” and you can expect some coding and design questions which are typical across tech companies. The difficulty varies by which level of SW Engr you are going for. As the previous reply mentioned, “Amazons Alexa lab” does not bode well for you as a careful and accurate person/coder...
I interviewed for Amazon yesterday. 50% of each interview was leadership questions. Tell me about a time - sacrificed short term gain for long term gain, got and processed negative feedback, onboarded a junior team member, solved a very difficult technical challenge, selected from multiple options without much data. Then 50% technical questions - design Netflix backend and dns, design Amazon homepage with the panes(hot items, recommended for you, books, electronics) and items within panes, Given multiple Amazon locker locations with different locker sizes, how do you suggest to a user top 3 available locker locations for his package? Given a height map in a grid a drop starts from a point and goes to lower height, find the shortest path to grid edge.
I'd start with knowing the correct name of the place you are interviewing with. It's Lab126.
Thanks. That helps
