at an early ish stage saas company, nearing a series B. currently there is no AM role but they will soon. currently I am an SDR on track to make the promotion to a SMB AE in a few months. I want to be an AM and it seems like being an AE first for a few months would be the best route to merge to an AM.. my manager said this also how clear should I be now as an SDR that I want to be an AM? trying to navigate not working myself out of a promotion since perhaps it is unrealistic to go from SDR to an AM? please help
Should not be a difficult transition, but I would probably get the smb ae role first, as you can always switch to AM anytime once you have a year or two of exp in the ae role
