I’ve been in the sales sector of the CPG industry for 4 years, and I’m making the jump to software sales to help pay these Bay Area bills. I’ve made it to the final round of interviews at a few large SF tech companies (no FANG), and salary expectation questions are looming. All positions are Associate Level. B2B Sales. Having no tech industry experience I’m completely blind as to where to set the bar, and I don’t want to start my SaaS career $20,000 in the hole because of my ignorance. I’m sure TC should break 6 figures, but beyond that I’m lost. I’d like to be more specific when the question is asked. All guidance is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Got it - with no SaaS experience you’ll likely start by managing mid-market accounts until you learn more about closing big software deals. Target TC should be anywhere from 100-150k, being a 50/50 split between base and commission, typically.

CPG?
Sorry. Consumer Packaged Goods. Fantastic velocity, terrible margins, mediocre salaries (compared to tech haha)
