Hey everyone! Currently, I am a Design Engineer at GE Aerospace working on military engines. I make 73.5k base with a ~9k bonus. 83k total. I will have 1 YOE at the start date at SLB. I am due for a raise in 2 weeks (expecting 4.5% raise). I received an offer from SLB in Houston for a rotational program. The offer, in my opinion, is extremely low at 76k base with 5k sign on. No bonus for the first year. There will be a promotion per year for the rotational program. Supposedly, after the two year mark, I should expect about 90k base. I would like to move to Texas, so I am considering SLB. However, it seems like I would be setting myself back by 1 year as they will treat me as a fresh grad compensation wise and the salary is pretty low. They have mentioned I am their top choice, which led me to think I could negotiate, I couldn't. If I am concerned about compensation, should I really take this role? Should I look at another company? Thanks!
From what I've heard SLB rotational and early career programs are top notch. They spend a lot on each employee on training and 2 level jumps are guaranteed during the program. It used to be a lot of travel opportunities as well but not so much for Houston based folks.
Dang that’s low! Is this a LCOL or MCOL? Either ways that’s an insanely low wage
It's houston, so I think MCOL. Yup, not taking it. It's incredibly low, don't know how this came to be
