It’s the annual ‘set your goals’ time and I have absolutely no idea what to put in there. For context, I was brought in as a senior con at Monitor Deloitte part of an acquisition so I’m a bit of a lateral hire. Now that I’ve been here for a month, I feel hard done by because I feel I should have been brought in as a manager with my experience but I had no idea what I was getting into and didn’t have much leverage at the time. I’ve accepted my fate and am now keen to get stuck in so any of you creative lot have any recommendations that I can set and forget? TC: $110k AUD 😢 YoE: 6

Conspiracy theory: Sundar wants to make India great again
Wow... I'm a EY Manager at New Zealand and the TC is 125K NZD... EY pays sucks...
You could move firms, very candidate short market in Oz at the moment and you can easily get manager elsewhere. If you don't want to move set some goals for team building, process improvements etc. I actually think your TC is about right though, just sad looking at similar positions much higher in USD on Blind!
I know right? It’s mental!
SMART goals? OKRs are all the rage now.
Aren’t they the pretty much the same?
Yeah but when your company switches to OKRs you get to have 30 meetings about it so that’s fun.
Exit out of consulting into something more enjoyable. I didn't like consulting in Aus 😥
