It seems a lot of companies do sponsor EB-3 while on STEM OPT if you are from ROW since you can get green card before the STEM OPT expires. Does Salesforce do this or do you know someone who hs gone through this. Did not get clear answer from EIG lawyer? TC: 200k YOE: 1
ROW can get green card (or EAD) before STEM expires. For instance my company started for me as soon as I joined, and now almost done. My STEM expires ending of June (H1B didn't get selected), but I got the EAD/AP approved already last month so I don't have to worry about work authorization
In the same boat. Didn’t get my H1B this time. I think applying earlier is better, but looks more risky with covid situation. What was the timeline for you.
EB2 Jan '19 - Jul '19: PERM approved Nov '19: I-140 filed (approved) Dec '19: AOS + EAD + AP filed April '20: EAD/AP approved. Currently: Waiting for interview
If I’m joining amazon at the beginning of my stem opt, what are my options for continued work authorization after my stem opt ends?
If you are from ROW (not India or China) ask them if they sponsor Greencard. If not, you will go abroad for a year and come back on L1 after your work authorization ends. Some companies sponsor PR only if the applicant is on dual intent visa (H1B or L1)
So, if you're joining at L4+ you should be able to initiate the Green Card process as soon as you join, with manager's consent. If you're not from India or China and things go very smoothly with the Green Card process, you may actually be able to get before your Stem OPT expires. Otherwise, depending on your team, manager, performance etc. they can open up a position for you in Canada and send you there.
Depends on whether OPT gets cancelled by executive order..
what is ROW if I can ask
Rest of world. A person who didn’t do the mistake of being born in India. As per green card back log, it takes around 150yrs to get GC for Indian citizen like me who apply on 2020.
Time to thank the indian tech sweatshops for abusing the system ...
200k 1 yoe... now that’s an achievement. What’s the breakdown?
Yeah . If possible please let us know the unique skill set that you bring you to the table with 1 YOE ! Must be incredibly good to earn 200k
Just got lucky with acquisition and stock appreciation. Tableau’s compensation used to be stock heavy. Other than that, I don’t think have any special skill.
Did you end up getting the answer? I’m joining soon on opt and hope to be considered case by case
Salesforce won't do it afaik. They will tell you have to be in a "immigrant intent" visa to start the process for GC
This is what the internal documentation seems to say. I don’t know if there is exception to this.
Is Tableau Salesforce now ? Also how long does it take to get EB3
