SWE Internship at Slack

Hello Everyone, I'm currently in a very precarious situation. I was fortunate to get a SWE internship with Slack for this summer but unfortunately, my EAD (work permit) renewal is taking so long (over a year) and there are no signs that it'll renew before June 6th. Should I notify the recruiter of my situation right now, or do I wait and hope that something happens within the next few weeks. Moreover, what are the odds that my internship is moved to the fall? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! NB: I'm not an international student.
