I feel like I know nothing, I know people will say impostor syndrome, but it’s true. I know how to LC(I know what is BST...) so as a new grad I could get a job in some good companies But I haven’t done anything practical, I haven’t used Git/Mercurial, I havent build a website or an app. What do you think would be some good accomplishments for a new grad? Edit: thanks for the answers, but I am not asking what I should do on my new job, I know I should ask question, learn, be curious, etc... I am asking what kind of practical things should be common to future SWE while in the university.
Dude tons of people have imposters syndrome. Don't sweat it. View it as an opportunity to learn - if you didn't have imposters syndrome you're probably not learning much
I got that. My question is not what I should do, I think it’s clear that I should learn as much as I can and it is a great start. I was wondering in the past, I have edited my post
Oh trust me Same boat I think concentrate on learning and ask a lot of questions I know that’s what everyone says But you have to ask questions no matter how silly you think they are I joined in February after graduating in December for one month I didn’t ask my teammates for help/questions I would ask all of these in 1:1 to my manager She said you ask other team members that would help you get to know the team And also get answers faster Plus since everything is virtual it’s good to have a bond with your team
