SWE internship: rejected FB, now regret
Long story short, 2 weeks ago, I had an offer from FB and a host matching "Offer" from Google. I should've just taken the FB offer, but I chose the Google one instead. Now, I realize how fickle host matching can be. Hindsight is 20/20. My question is, should I reach back out to FB and ask if they could resend me that offer? What's likely to happen, and would this be bad? What should I say in the email, or should I just be straightforward about the entire situation with host matching? I originally chose Google over Facebook because a family member has health issues he is treating in MSK hospital, and FB was unable to send me there. As the situation is medically risky, I wanted to avoid emergency flights to New York. Update: Hiring season has closed for the fall, I was advised to reapply for next season. Oh well, worth the shot though. Thanks folks!

Where is MSK? So you mean Google place you in NYC? Both companies have limited headcounts in NYC, no guarantee you can get a full time offer there.
Sorry, MSK is memorial sloan kettering cancer hospital. The circumstances went south, we are unable to proceed with surgery, and so are back at Palo Alto medical.
Google is highly overrated. You should've gone with Facebook.
You made a ton of judgement errors on this one. Google is the only place where they make you go through an interview process before giving you a return offer. Facebook return offers are pretty juicy as well.
Ask for what you want.
