That's an odd situation to be in. Its only 3 games, but still money spent. https://m.cricbuzz.com/cricket-series/4315/pakistan-tour-of-sri-lanka-2022/matches TC:143K.
There are hundreds of people on roads and don't even have proper food but still many people can be seen in stadiums, not sure how they are able to afford tickets.
Tickets probably don't cost what they do in US.$100 for middle row, $25 service fee + $5 online purchase fee + $30 parking.
Doesn't matter even if nobody comes to watch the match. Earnings from ticket prices is a very small fraction of the sponsorships and media rights.
If they didn’t host the matches they would have to pay money back to media and sponsors.
The citizens that watched cricket are not the citizens get affected by financial. An entire country is not a homogeneous monolith that can be summarize by a media sounds bite
It should and possibly will be hosted in Bangladesh.

How to save money ?
Its not money spent, but rather money earned. They get $$ from ICC, media rights, sponsorships etc.
