Hey folks, I stay in Mumbai. Got an offer from JPMC, Mumbai India for a Software Engineering role in CCB lob for a new project. Around 100% hike of my current CTC. Already have 2 offers - one in a seeded startup in Mumbai (16LPA) and another of a stable and mid size startup in Bangalore(17+3(ESOPs) LPA). I'm inclined towards JPMC looking at the CTC, market, other benefits and bonus, and the location. Wanted to know your opinions on how safe it is to pick a job at Financial services in a time of recession. Looking that Goldman Sachs has laid off people, would JP Morgan would be in the same decision. Or should I move towards a mid size startup. Current CTC -🥜🥜 Offered CTC - 18LPA YOE - 2.5 #engineering #software #swe #jpmc #jpmorgan #jpmorganchase #mumbai #india #startup #opinion #bangalore #finance
JPMorgan is trash. in my college new grad also got 18 LPA package.
Yea their new grad package is that much but depends on previous package in switching n jp is never a pay master
18 LPA is good for a fresher right ? Trash because ?
It’s safer to join compared to other companies, I don’t think layoffs would happen. Work quality is highly team dependent though
My suggestion is to take the startup offer in Bangalore. You will learn a lot in startups. Parallelly prepare well and jump to tier 1 or 2 product companies down the line. Jpmc is for old uncle's who wants to retire
Would recommend JPMC given the current mkt conditions. If you are feeling adventurous, go for startups
My question is how are you getting 9 lpa at TCS with 2.5 years
Is it lesser ? Or more?

If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
Quite Crappy company for a sde just a level up from TCS tbh, but pretty safe never saw them firing even a single person no matter how low performer they were in my time there. GS has always been competitive internally and firing low performers had been a practice there long. And obviously the compensation at gs is twice as much too.
