Hi, I have a joining date on April 6. Lawyers told me that they filed my application via pp on Thursday morning. On Friday USCIS suspended pp. Should I make the move from amzn to google just on receipt or should I wait for approval ? Ph.D. in computer science. Edit: approved on March - 27. #h1b
TC or GTFO
No please don't do that. The risk is not worth it. If it gets denied you will have to sit home. There's a low chance though but it does happen even in Google.
You don't have to sit at home. You can transfer to any other locations outside US. Shouldn't be too hard. Id do it
DONT !! If they filed on PP before they closed it, you got lucky . Wait for another 2 weeks and they will finish processing PP and you will have a result. Not worth the risk

It's not the date of filling, rather it is the date on which USCIS accepted it. Usually lawyers mail the packet via FedEx to USCIS. I don't think my packet was accepted before Friday. Will know more on Monday.
Don't do it. The risk is not worth it
If USCIS starts rejecting SWE/Scientist H1B transfers for folks with a PHD in CS, I don’t know who’s they will approve.. lol
Doesn't matter every case is different. I know one guy with Masters and bachelor's CS h1b 5th extension got denied. Unless you love to take gamble with USCIS
In a FAANG company ?
Agreed. It is just that I don't like the culture at Amazon. I can survive but it is mental trauma.
NO - don’t do this in current times. You may jeopardize your work authorization. You decide if it’s worth the risk.
PP was suspended on Friday, so wait untill you receive a confirmation on PP. if you PP didn’t go through wait for 4-6weeks for PP to come back and then take a call. Generally normal processing takes 5-6months.
Google's h1b rejection rate is less than one percent (checked USCIS data), which includes people holding jon-cs degrees. You should be fine joining on receipt
Non-zero risk, but go for it. Good luck on the new job
You suggest that I join on receipt ?
Yes
