I accepted an offer from VISA recently and my background check is done. I am waiting on them to file my h1b transfer. Is it safe to join VISA on H1B right now? My joining isn't till last week of April. Hitachi isn't safe either as they are laying people off constantly but would it be ok to join a new company given the impact of Coronavirus impact on economy. CTC 125k TC 215k YOE 6
Are you expecting the CEO of Visa to read this and share his thoughts with you?
Since handling cash is spreading the virus I expect ppl using their debit/credit cards more. This means more transactions for Visa. Does this mean that Visa’s not gonna do any layoffs? It’s to hard to tell.
Visa has a very resilient business model since they only care that cards are used not whether people will be able to pay their credit cards back. Visa also has very high margins, so it's probably safe than most companies
Almost any place will be better than HV. You think we won't be hard hit by this crisis?
Lol.. True that
For that TC increase, do it
Although there are no guarantees - I would say that Vida would be safer than Hitachi. As previously mentioned Visa’s business model revolves around providing a network for credit cars usage which will continue to happen. If Visa is still honoring your onboarding - you should be ok. (Again: no guarantees ensue my thoughts based on experience with the company). Best of luck!
Thanks.. yes I spoke with the recruiter again on Friday and he said we have rejected all other candidates and are just waiting for the visa transfer process to finish
Awesome! Congrats and welcome aboard! 😀👍
That tc looks pretty good for 6 years. Is it for engineering?
Could you break down your offer.
DM if you are interested
Congrats! My last day is 4/10. Good luck and have fun!
