That's not a data scientist, that's a minimum wage data analyst lol

A "real" data scientist in Bay starts around 225k, moving to 300k with 2 years xp. If you do SQL, that's a data analyst. Data scientist is a dead title, you want to be a ml engineer.

How to be an mle?

It's acceptable if you get no better offers. Everything is relative. Nothing is deserved. Very hard to know your potential without getting many offers.

Doesn’t sounds like a data scientist TC, agreed something is wrong. If you’re an analyst then you might want to consider moving (companies or cities).

White male or latino black immigrant woman? Some attributes make a difference when it comes to hiring for some companies. Stay away from them.

Entry level? What was your major. Sounds very high

It’s high for entry level?

It’s fine for first job, especially if BS with no xp. You’ll want to be moving soon though if you can’t 1.5x each year

I have a MS but didn’t have competing offers at the time. And I didn’t negotiate while hiring. My manager won’t increase my salary or promote me because he doesn’t understand what I do :/ :(
