If you accepted a job offer when you didn't have a competing offer, did you negotiate your salary?
Yes u get more with competing offers, but ur BATNA without competing offers is your current role/TC that u can use as a leverage. And honestly they would lose respect for you a little if you don’t negotiate at all, unless ur a recent college grad (even then, u should ask)
Agree. :)
I asked as a college grad and got a slight increase. Just say you have college tuition to pay off and most recruiters will try to help you.
Always ask for more. They want to hire you. They aren’t going to berate you for asking for more. I got 35% more RSUs this way.
There is no rule that you need have a competing offer to negotiate. I negotiated for base increase but ended up getting a 50k sign on bonus since they said can’t increase the base
Rule of Thumb: always negotiate
Yes I agree 100% but want to see how others behave. :)
