I’ve received my offer letter from Principal Financial Group and I feel like they lowballed me hard with the salary. Anyone have any tips on salary negotiations? This would be my first time doing it. #interview #finance #salarynegotiation #salary
Ask for what you want. If they say no, they say no. You might need leverage for them to actually move, either competing offers or willing to decline the current numbers. Not sure how finance is now, but lots of tech companies lowballing now since comps have dropped. Good luck!
Thank you everyone for the advice! They accepted my negotiations😮💨
TC or GTFO
A long shot but I have an interview with Principal for a SWE role - can I DM with questions about the loop?
Sure, my role is Retirement Specialist but i can tell you my experience with the interview process
You got your foot in the door..... Next step...identify BATNA for the two parties Next up bargain And finally close it. Be ready to walk away from the deal
What is BATNA? Please/thank you
“Best alternative to a negotiated agreement”. I.e. what does each party get if the deal doesn’t happen. A key part of negotiating is improving your BATNA - competing offers, currently working a good job so you’re not desperate for a new one, etc.
