Selected at Flipkart for SDE 1 CTC at current employer :- 18 LPA Experience: ~11 months How much base pay can I negotiate at Flipkart? They offered 18 LPA base pay and 26.57 LPA CTC to inexperienced freshers at my college in my batch (2020 pass outs). Can I ask them base pay somewhere in between 21-25 LPA? I am not very much thrilled about the stocks that they provide. Whats the best I can negotiate in this scenario? I have following points in my favour:- 1. Will have to relocate for Flipkart. Current job is near my home town. 2. Currently also going through the On Site interview rounds of Amazon, they are going pretty well and I am confident that it'll be converted but I don't know the compensation they'll provide, moreover, won't be able to hold Flipkart's salary negotiation round till Amazon makes an offer. 3. Some industry experience (11 months) in same domain. Please Guide. #salarynegotiation #flipkart #sde
Of course you can negotiate. Just argue about some competing offer and lay high with your strong points. Definitely worth a try.
FK offers 18L base to new grads. Your experience is just 11 months. So you'll get pretty much same. I don't think they will go above 20L for SDE1 with 1YOE. Try Amazon. Overall TC will be better with all cash. FK RSUs are paper money. Also which team in FK? You can consider that factor as well.
How much data engineer 1 YoE can expect at flipkart ?
Flipkart stocks will be cash soon due to IPO and they might increase the base by 8-9% as freshers will be getting increment in April and you will miss that increment cycle , so you can try to argue over this point. This argument worked for me when I tried to negotiate.
Think you didn't attend the recent townhall 😅
This seems a good point, thanks for this pal🤩
In my opinion you can ask for 24-25 LPA as a 30-35% hike as per industry standard.
I had around 2 years experience, they offered me around 19.5 base without any competing offers, average10 % bonus and around 6 lakhs RSUs. I now think, I should have interviewed more as I switched with no greater than 12 per cent hike on my pay. I take solace in the fact that at least work is much better than my previous employer. At this point I would say you should optimize for learning not comp. I wasted 2 years of my life in a company where I did not learn anything. Had I worked for a startup for a much lesser package, I think I would have something to show for it. Get to know the group and the team you would be working for. Update your post with the same. People here would then be able to guide u better.
How has been your learning at Flipkart?
Any update? What did they offer you at first and whats ur final offer after negotiations??
Make it a poll of the salary brackets
I really have no idea about what salary brackets to put. Just need to know the max that I can negotiate for.
They're pretty rigid on the offered comp, wish you luck in your negotiations, I wanted a 50K bump, and they weren't even entertaining, so 🥲
