Salary Negotiation

I currently work as a contractor for Cognizant/Client. The client compensates Cognizant at a rate of $130 per hour, while Cognizant, in turn, pays my employer, who sponsors my H1B, at a rate of $70 per hour. I am seeking advice on the optimal amount to negotiate with Cognizant. Is it reasonable to propose a rate of $100 per hour to Cognizant through my employer? I am considering a 25% reduction to account for factors such as their margin profit. It's important to note that I am the sole architect assigned to this project from Cognizant and their ability to load resources to the client failed. Thank you. I also hold a backup offer but I like this project. Account Directors and Delivery managers request your expertise please! #software #engineering #swe #Director #CTS #INFY #TCS #WIPRO #LTI

You can start negotiating at 100 & later if you get 10-15 raise of current rate that would be a decent hike. Multiple layers by the time money in ur pocket

Yes, you can definitely ask for higher pay rate. Since it’s a huge jump from 70 to 100, they will push for negotiation. Remember their are lot of internal profiles now available which also would be reviewed.

My suggestion would be try to join Cognizant as a full time with a good salary. Discuss with your Cognizant manager. If they feel like hiring you, I would suggest go ahead and join them.
