Salary Progression at Google/Meta/Amazon?
People at these companies (+ other FAANG), how has your salary (TC) progression been? I got offers from multiple companies (Google/Meta/Amazon/etc.). I got offers where my base is about 15% higher than my current base but the RSU is slightly lower than my current stock with appreciation (since Tesla stock has risen a lot). TC-wise, they are all similar and it's still about a 20-25% increase from my current TC (the offers are final). Do you think I would be able to make a good salary progression and it's worth moving considering Tesla's stock will rise faster than these FAANG companies? TC: 305k YOE: 5

TC increases quickly at the beginning of your career if you are good. 101k (started mid year and there was a one year equity cliff at the time) 225k (including the first year’s equity so it’s higher than “real” TC) 238k 293k 468k 540k (projected) Got promoted twice and got a retention offer.

Well it really depends on your goals. If you are feeling stuck at Tesla, then moving to a different company with more growth opportunities can be worth the short term loss. Remember that your career is long and 1-2 years is nothing. If you can make it to staff / senior staff or above (or the management equivalent), you’ll look back at today and chuckle at the loss of a few 10s of thousands of dollar. So it really depends on what your goals are, the reasons for wanting a change, and how good you are (+ luck)
