Salary adjustment based on location
I got an SDE 1 offer from Godaddy for 130K TC (100K base, 35K RSU over four years, 10K sign-on, 10K bonus). This offer is for Chicago, and I will start at the beginning of June. However, I'll be moving to the bay area by the end of July. Before that, I'll be in Chicago. I am not gonna bring this up with the HM or recruiter before I move to the bay area since I'll be in Chicago for like 2 months. Other GoDaddy employees mentioned there's a relocation form for employees so I'll just fill that out. However, I am not sure how much my salary is gonna be adjusted. Just find a new job in bay area
Agree, you’ll likely be underpaid even with an adjustment. That TC * 1.15 is still livable certainly in the Bay Area, but by no means will it be lavish. Worth re-interviewing elsewhere sooner rather than later to get a TC bump.
