Got reached out by a contracting agency about a potential Meta contractor position. He said it’s a C++ and php role for 2-3 yoe, and the salary is $62 hourly. Is it a bit low for Meta? Or normal for my YOE Also what’s the workload for Meta contractor like? I care a lot about wlb, currently working 25-30h/week at my job so should I even consider this TC: 150 #contractor
They're laying people off. Why do they need contract devs?
Lower hourly rate, can terminate your contract at any time. So many plus sides to it for them
Is there any agencies hiring for such roles? How I can find name of those agencies
Keep your LinkedIn updated and open and you’ll have recruiters reaching out.
I meant I am looking for a contractor role in FANG
That sounds pretty low, but maybe it's your YoE. I'm currently CW at Meta making 95/hr. Your current job pays more and probably has better benefits if you're full time. I would not make the switch if I were you
How many yoe do you have?
7
Isnt less than what you are earning now? 249 working days * 8 hours * $62 = 124k
Yeah but it’s fully remote so a big plus. And Meta has way better prestige, so if I can negotiate it up it would be a another big plus
