What’s your take on this?
Altair Engineering qMIo78 Aug 20, 2022

Phil Libin for US president

Apple dqrkbxa Aug 20, 2022

Agree. Will only help US Engineers as everything will be on equal footing

Amazon RedLime Aug 20, 2022

If anything, companies would rather lower pay to the lowest wages they can pay in other countries. Would you rather every engineer be paid what the current lowest paid engineer is making?

Bloomberg RedRomeo28 Aug 20, 2022

Agree.

Salesforce rtask Aug 20, 2022

Delusional

Rippling prime vdeo Aug 20, 2022

Why does company care What house, food , cars employees buy. If company’s revenue is from US customers only it should not worry where contributions come from and pay equally

Meta bh4Fgn7 Aug 20, 2022

The whole point of having an office in India is to get job done for a lower cost. If the pay is the same - there is no point to even open office in India, better to open one more office in California. Unless the pay is not competitive for Californians.

Microsoft dk83ahH Aug 20, 2022

@Meta that’s BS, lol There are many reasons for having foreign offices, such as tapping into a different talent pool, using timezones to your advantage for example for on-call, improving diversity, … Besides, outside of engineering it’s actually often a must for things like sales

Google dogfoodie Aug 20, 2022

They do. As soon as they move to California.

Amazon fTpT05 Aug 23, 2022

Yep

Google Bucciarati Aug 20, 2022

I support fair pay, but pay in most company is based on cost of living and demand rather than performance. Raising pay for India, would also mean raising pay in all low cost of living areas across the board (ranging from rural US states to different countries).

Meta oTFA27 Aug 20, 2022

Google does not use cost of living to set salaries. No major tech company does that

Microsoft Str8toProd Aug 21, 2022

Actually Google does use cost of living to adjust salaries and caps for a specific location. People working in Sunnyvale will be paid more than those working remotely in Kansas City. Ty, next.

Blue Origin ($28(73$; Aug 20, 2022

Disagree, what is special about India?

eBay ohliviya Aug 20, 2022
