Salary range for experienced SWE at Facebook

I have been invited for an on-site interview at Facebook in Seattle at the end of the month. I’m curious what kind of salary range I should expect should they make an offer. I have 17 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree.

Three fiddy! Just kidding. From what I’ve seen, E5 range will be between 160 and 190. 15% bonus target. Stock grant is where things get interesting, search blind for “E5”.

Thanks!

It depends on your level, e5 is min level for you and max could be e7.

I would say 450k total comp

Facebook AeGV70 Nov 10, 2017

Wow, that's e6. Which may or may not happen

Define total compensation?

Can you elaborate on your 17 years? Is it swe, after college, all us? 17 swe US after college experience should bring you e7, with TC around 600k -700k; but FB doesn’t hire e7s unless you are very good and have unique stuff in your resume

I graduated college with a math degree in 1999 and have been working as a swe since then all in the US. I worked for government contractors for a long time and I’ve been working for commercial companies for the past 7ish years. The recruiter was super interested in my experience working on missiles 😎

Pass the interview first then ask here with the offer details. If you are good, you could get > $500k.

Focus the interview. You will be at least interviewed as E5 or E6. You don’t need to worry about the comp. It all depends on whether you get E5 or E6 offer. FB targets total comp about 95% percentile. Coding/design interviews are important, but so-called culture fit is also very important. Good luck!

FB will beat any comp that you currently make if you do great on the interview

Not really..
