What does a Sales Engineer do?
Sell the product ofcourse but in a different way. By acting as a trusted advisor to the clients and helping them with proof of concepts and solutions.
They are a hybrid sales-technical role. Builds POC's, documents customers' needs and requirements, does Q&A on all things technical before the buyer moves forward with purchasing...it's a jack of all trades sort of role with an emphasis on selling + product knowledge.
What makes a Sales Engineer an engineer?
It’s probably the other way around. An engineer who will directly contribute to the sales functions.
Got it! Makes sense! I’ve heard of technical sales before, but sales engineer was a new one.
You will get hired, no worries
I think the hiring bar would be high, what do you think?
It’s the opposite actually, remember the leveling also not same for GCP. They reduced their hiring bar significantly to hire CE folks, I really don’t understand why
