Hi All Im moving from an Account Exec role at Oracle to a CSM in a mid-size SaaS company Currently negotiating Salary, and wondering what I should take into consideration for expected salary My current split as an Account Executive is a 50/50 split. While as a CSM will not be on a quota. Hence will only have a based fixed salary. I am considering asking for my current OTE (50+50) to be as my fixed salary for the csm role. What do you think?

No possible chance they’ll give you that unless your current OTE is super low right now
What’s your TC now? CSMs generally are lower paid than salespeople. Also wouldn’t be surprised if your salary as CSM was lower than your AE role but depends on your situation
Realistically a csm is probably going to max out at around $120K.. most are probably in the $100k range, assuming it’s a good tech company. If it’s a customer success role outside of tech, I would imagine $80ish
I didn’t join mongodb because they pay CSMs shit, couldn’t even match. Going from sales to CSM you don’t have the experience, but I cleared 150k in my last place salary + bonus not including stock options/RSUs. Other places offered 150k max so I get it, it really depends on the company and there are two types of CSMs in tech, the ones that are more sales focused and the ones that are technical. I’m a mix of both hence the higher pay.
