Salesforce 1:1 with manager and Internal transfer.

Hello everyone, I had joined Salesforce 9 months ago. My manager is also new to Salesforce (6 months). During 1:1 he does not discuss anything about my career, growth and learning opportunities. He only talks about work, which I have been delivering. I have also told him that if there is something missing, I want him to be very clear about what he expects, and I will make sure that is delivered on time with quality but he doesn't acknowledge that is just not being helpful. Its the same boring discussion every week just to waste my time. How soon can I apply for an internal transfer within Salesforce? Does it have to be at-least one year? Does the current manager have to approve if the other team likes me and wants to hire me? I want to learn and grow and just want to get out of this mess. Any inputs are appreciated. Thanks. #culture #salesforce #manager

You can initiate career conversations with the manager. In fact, that is what I would do if I am after promotions

OOM is okay but if the other manager likes my profile and wants to hire me. Would they check with my manager first and can my manager deny it?

The new manager can take feedback from your current manager. Current manager can give feedback but cannot deny the move. If it's a culture/skills fit the new manager wouldn't care much about what old manager has to say. OOM happens all the time! Good luck!

The one on is your meeting and the onus is on you to set the agenda and make sure you talk about the things you want to talk about.
