I was interviewed for the SMTS position and they went well, but Salesforce offered me MTS role because they had more experienced candidates in the pool. I rejected that position and then they came back with this. I’m currently SDE1 at Amazon with my first year compensation about 185k and that reduces in the following years without stock refreshers/base increments. What do you folks suggest? YoE: 3 #amazon #salesforce #sde #jobhunt #tech #techcareer #negotiation #negotiate #negotiateoffer
YOE?
I thought AMTS -> SWE1, MTS -> SWE2 and SMTS -> Senior SWE Isn't it?
Not exactly. SMTS is kind of equivalent to mid SWE2 at Amazon.
Amazon is right. Lead @ Salesforce is like a mid Senior SWE.
SDE 2 at Amazon makes 252k at the bottom of the band. I'd personally stick around and get promoed in your shoes, but I heard Salesforce is chill in terms of WLB so 🤷♂️
Not anymore
It would take you 2 to 3 years to become SMTS at Salesforce. Instead I would suggest you to get promoted at Amazon and then jump ship To add - SMTS offers can be around 300k
Its already an SMTS offer
Oh yes, it’s a lowball for SMTS for sure
Thats crazy, its pretty good for salesforce standard. I joined as MTS with the same yoe and its been hard moving up to SMTS so you have a good head start
what is terminal level at Salesforce?
I think every level is lol
Why you want to join Salesforce, it’s a shit hole at this moment. If you have any pip concerns at Amazon then it’s a different story. Otherwise try to give more interviews.
Can I ask you the reason you said the salesforce is a shit hole at this moment?
That’s a SMTS offer with MTS compensation
Can you share the interview exp ? Which team was this ?
DM
How many rounds did you have and what were they about?
