Question about women in their 30’s?
Is it acceptable to deploy straight from a dev box to production without staging and UAT?
At salesforceiq they do this all the time.
That violates trust in sooooo many ways
Depends on the use case. If it’s a super high emergency bug fix then yes you can go straight to production. In an ideal scenario, it’s a no no, at least in Core. However, people develop wide variety of things at Salesforce. Some of them don’t even have a staging/uat.
If you’re doing feature flagging, canary releases, etc correctly, yes. Otherwise no. Given the state of our codebase and our CD maturity, the answer for us is the latter.
Less than a year in...deploying straight from dev box is directed by the CTO, so I have no input...was just curious how common this practice might be.
That’s reassuring. Lol
