Salesforce hiring freeze
Learned from a director that Salesforce hiring freeze too. Maybe not literally zero new headcount but definitely a large freeze. Knowing companies are being cautious for a potential recession but still felt unreal and insecure when hearing the news in person… Edit: it’s ironic that people didn’t think of today when riding the stock market wave in 20/21 under the delusion of getting rich and quitting jobs.
If Salesforce is freezing hiring then you know it’s getting real
Or they’ve acquired a company and they haven’t announced it yet. They always put hiring and hold a few months into a large acquisition, but before it was announced.
in this environment when it seems like everyday more companies freeze hiring, I wouldn’t count on it

You should talk to your recruiter if you have concerns. Can’t speak for India
Yes, but it depends on the criticality of the role .. position will be clear by the end of the next week, managers will get a revised head count
It’s nothing new. We’ve gone through hiring freezes many times in the past

VMware still exists? I thought AWS, Azure, and whatever oracle offers killed your market.
Wasn’t there a layoff at Salesforce within the past year or two?
My impression it was like a minor layoff and stock was up like crazy so wasn’t concerned
If stock up like crazy, why any need to lay people off? Lay offs are usually preceded by hiring freeze, unless the HR department is run by morons

Maybe that’s the reason my recruiter in India is ghosting me. I had a first fitment round with a VP of Product mgmt and was told about next rounds by the VP.
Zero new Head count, no backfill, all open roles to be closed - till Q4 - across Salesforce including all acquired business units. (Won’t affect the candidates with signed offer letter, though.) Massive cuts and additional red-tapes in Travel & Expenses.

I’m expecting an offer at the end of this week from the marketing org at Salesforce. Is marketing org impacted by this freeze?
