Salesforce is highly ranked workplace but has short average tenure?

Current or ex- salesforce employees: how is the company always ranked at top for best company to work for but on LinkedIn the length of tenure doesn’t even surpass 2 years? If the company is so great and treats people so well, wouldn’t people want to stay 3+ years like at other companies such as Google? Somethings not adding up. I got an offer (and it’s remote which is the most convincing part for me right now since workday is RTO) but after research, I’m weary that there’s something underlying that I’m not seeing and that Grass may not be greener over there TC: $145k #salesforce

For SWE I’m very surprised at that statistic. Most stay 4+

Workday werkdayz OP Sep 8, 2022

Yeah I’m really surprised too. Like even for workday, average tenure is 3 years

Salesforce lcing24/7 Sep 8, 2022

Agreed, most engineers tend to be lifers here. I know many engineers and PMs who’ve been here for 5+ years. Not sure about sales exes but I heard their WLB is not that great.

Salesforce RQwL25 Sep 8, 2022

The tech stack is outdated in majority of the teams and it becomes frustrating after a point in time

Salesforce UUfG21 Sep 8, 2022

Sure, but look at tenure. Lots of folks stay for the culture.

Sales is a revolving door. Salesforce has a massive… sales force.

Salesforce is most hypocrite culture. There PR team is just trying to improve their image of good WLB & good culture. Good WLB/Culture may be there in very few teams, most of the teams in salesforce has bad WLB, terrible bullying work culture. On top of that tech stack is legacy & a crappy code base which makes working on it exponentially difficult. You don't gain anything by working there as your tech skills also start becoming obsolete.

This is also what I’ve been hearing on blind - so strange that on glassdoor and everywhere else the reviews are stellar and around 4.5-5 stars? Makes me super hesitant to jump ship and I definitely know of employers having HR teams write fake reviews on rating sites

Maybe 9 months?

Salesforce is brilliant marketing and selling. It's only natural that our reviews are great everywhere. Few get refreshers and they tend to stick. Also others who are coasting are immediately recognized and not given refreshers. The rest leave

Microsoft RH03 Sep 9, 2022

How is the wlb ? Thats the main point.

Salesforce neonoir Sep 9, 2022

Depends. Mostly good. But also mostly because there's may not be much real woryor lot of red tape which makes the life easier. Ideal wlb has both work and life and you have freedom to balance it

Workday NyoSze84 Sep 8, 2022

Only top 20% of the company gets refreshers. The rest only get it when their 4 year grant is out.

Salesforce sljrzhdsx Sep 9, 2022

Wlb is hypocrite here. Only few teams have wlb and others are working crazy hours with firing on head

Salesforce DoubleTC01 Sep 9, 2022

Which org has bad wlb?

Salesforce sljrzhdsx Sep 9, 2022

Is your org has good wlb? Which org you are part of ?

Salesforce nm611 Sep 9, 2022

I've been on 4 engineering teams here and it is very easy to coast, there's very little accountability and no one ever gets fired. Learn to say no, set realistic boundaries, explain why development takes time to your managers and you can have both WLB and promotions

Can i dm you? Are you in USA or india branch?
