Depite raising another $400M, Samsara lays off 300 people accross the company https://www.samsara.com/blog/preparing-samsara-for-economic-uncertainty #layoff
It’s a prudent move
I’m surprised it took this long. Every time a recruiter sets up an interview with me, they’ve canceled due to lost headcount. This was over a year ago too.
Same here. Glad I didn’t spend extra effort in pursuing them.
I pursued samsara about 4 years ago because I was so impressed with how meraki was run. Seems like the founders have lost something in the shuffle or maybe their product is not as much of a hit
I was really close to taking an offer there. The product and work they did looked promising.
Same here. Almost took an offer there, but level was fairly downgraded.
how's the severance package?
10 weeks pay, healthcare through the end of the year, and we get to keep our laptops
That’s insane. Isn’t keeping laptops an infosec issue?
If you Samsara folks want to come home to the mothership, let me know if you need a Meraki referral 😄
I’d really appreciate a Meraki referral. Can I DM you ?
Yep
Sad day for the team. We’re very accustomed to hypergrowth, so it’s definitely a change of pace. From a business perspective, the layoffs make sense. The cuts were predominantly recruiting and emerging markets. Our core business is still going strong. This is at least my perspective. I’m on the core product sales team fwiw.
I’m surprised they didn’t cut ramping reps vs Sr reps, few ppl they cut are good reps having an off quarter
Who wouldn’t be having an off quarter?
Sketchsara
Interviewed there and I dressed too formal lol. Seems like a good co but after Tesla soon to be in that market It’s scary
Tesla’s not really in the same market not sure if you understand what samsara does
Yeah we are not a self-driving company, but more like an operations platform for companies that have fleets and industries. You can have your fleet drive itself, but you’ll still need a platform to manage the logistics of the entire fleet and where your goods go.
Any idea of the breakdown by department? I wanted to join them badly a few years ago
Sales, recruiting, and international.
Lots of design and engineering as well.
