Any insights on system design interview prep for Samsara on-site interview#engineering #software
@umOv81: could you please help me what should I be prepping for system design and coding. What kind of questions I can expect in the on-site interview.
Hi can I DM about onsite?
The coding question is like whatever was asked in the phone screen. You work through a changing set of requirements. Design is also pretty easy, usually a frontend component and/or a backend service, depending on what your background is in. You can find the questions on Glassdoor but they’re easy enough that you shouldn’t need to prep
@Samsara, may I dm? Currently in process
I was asked to do a html parsing for phone screen. You are saying the onsite is the same string manipulation thing with different parsing requirements?
Hi op how was the interview?
For me coding question was pretty vague, there wasn’t much information to get started on the question. I think it was intentional. I had to ask many clarifying questions to get started. I found system design a bit difficult as I didn’t had understanding of some of the components. But overall experience was good.
Thanks for sharing! For system design, was it building things at scale or more like building one component?
Initial question was mvp but then asked to make it scalable
Was it related to their product or more open ended like design WhatsApp?
Hey. What role are you interviewing for?
Which location was this for
prepare for low tc
I had both offers last Sept with similar TC but boy did I make the right decision based on stock performance since
if you had amazon offer last sept, then you would have all cash basically the first year and would not be affected by stock perf
