Asking this for a friend. YoE : 2 Samsung GPU DV: Austin Base: 135K Joining Bonus: 23K LTIP : 10% base of base ( every years, vested in 3 year) Cisco: San Jose Base: 155K Joining Bonus: 23K RSU: 140K (over 3 year) I am personally interested in the field of GPU, but I saw a lot of negative reviews about the Samsung team and that is why I am not sure if I should join Samsung or not. I really don't want to go to the networking side that's why I was thinking of going to Samsung. But after reading a lot of reviews I am having second thoughts about Samsung. What should I do? Please, do comment about which offer is better. #offer #advice #careeradvice #needhelp #interview #student #gpu #samsung #cisco @cisco @samsung @sarc

Congrats, what level in Cisco?
How is Cisco hardware doing Layoffs situation there in current market
Not sure about hw but layoffs I heard happened in hw and sw.
Samsung is best company in the world
I know you're sarcastic, but I quite like it here.
I jumped to Samsung too and its not bad at all.
Was in the same boat. Chose Samsung. Cisco HW doesn't look good on resume, and based on your yoe, you don't need wlb, which you'll get at cisco. Plus, GPU might open more high paying opportunities for the future. Been here at samsung for more than 6 months, wlb isn't as bad either, plus free food doesn't hurt. Good luck choosing.
Cisco asic is pretty secure because many senior engineers left. Desperate to hire. Most of the cool designs are done in Israel
What about verification
Don't know much about verification. It's under which org?
SARC is suffering a lot of attrition with key leadership jumping to Google/AMD, and tech stack is heavily dependent on AMD. However, they have free catered lunch, usually with three to five different restaurants to choose from + WFH Grubhub credit. Despite their reputation, their WLB is pretty good and nothing like their Korean sibling. If you are interested in GPU architecture, systemverilog, and perl, DV is the team to join. Can't comment on Cisco, so I'll let others who are more familiar to chime in.
Thanks for the information!!! It actually helped. :)
Happy to hear that. Feel free to ask if you'd like thoughts on any other aspects :)
