Samsung Interview | Recruiter Issues

I have been contacted by recruiters in the past from Samsung and didn’t have a great experience with them. This time I am more interested due to this being a higher level role in marketing and higher pay band. I also hate my current situation at Amazon which is another reason why I would like to consider the opp. The first recruiter I spoke with never followed up with me after their talk with the hiring manager/team after mentioning they’d follow up that day. A week later last Fri), another recruiter who I have never spoken with asked for my availability for a 45 min interview and didn’t disclose with who. I gave them my availability for 2 weeks, but have heard nothing back. Is it typical for Samsung’s recruiting process to be slower? I’m not sure if I should follow up or not. Curious to know if anyone else has experience with their recruiting process. Thanks for your help!

When I joined a few years ago, the recruiters were truly awful. Every step of the process took weeks. Hiring mgr said once I was onboard that he was just as frustrated with their incompetence.

I was interviewed at Samsung on phone and person who interviewed me from Irvine,South California informed one of his friend working at my company. I was so pissed but just let go so be aware while interviewing at Samsung.

I've never worked with a great recruiter and HR is extremely slow to get approvals and organize the hiring process..roles take forever to fill

I wasn’t sure if I should be concerned my initial phone screen with the recruiter was 3 weeks ago and they have yet to get my interview scheduled. I emailed both recruiters twice and I finally called one today (thanks to a person on Blind suggesting me to) . Apparently, they scheduled my video interview with the head of the department for tomorrow and never told me...I was shocked. They made some BS about my email address potentially bouncing back which is not possible when I received an initial email from the recruiting coordinator a week ago. This has left a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure if the interview will actually happen next week, but thanks for your insight! It’s helpful to know this isn’t just me experiencing this. I hope they refine their HR teams as this will deter candidates from wanting to continue in the interview process 😒.

Expect everything to be slow and go haywire with samsung HR. Most of their recruiters are outsourced so they aren't incentivized to close roles. You are lucky if you talk to an employee. Would you mind letting me know if this is marketing within SEA? Depending on the business unit I maybe able to give you some insight.

Hi thanks so much for your insight! This is for the Bellevue marketing team. I met with the Senior Director of my department on Tuesday. I honestly do not think I did very well, bad time for me to interview with Q4. However, she said I should hear back from the recruiter soon regarding next steps. I sent the original recruiter a thank you note to pass along to the interviewer, but no word yet. Should I just assume I won’t hear back regardless of a rejection or continuation in the interview process for another week?

I can't say for sure. When I interviewed turnaround was about 3 days.

They are very slow. I had to follow up 10+ times between the coordinator, the recruiter and the hiring manager. Just keep following up! But honestly all the HR people I worked with have been awful. So the issue is not unique to Samsung for sure.
