The recruiter is asking me to share a snapshot of my unvested RSU's. I do not feel comfortable sharing. I don't want to miss on getting the unvested stocks amount. If I decline to share the screenshot, am I risking getting this extra grant? Has anyone else got the unvested amount without sharing hard proofs? #interview #hardware #semiconductor #samsung
This is a common ask to ask for proof. Without it, you will likely not get the difference.
Call out NDA and ask if they are asking you to break the NDA, they'll shut up.
This won't violate an NDA. But it is common across industry. I'd say it happens maybe 25% of the time.
You are never obligated to share anything and recruiters cannot force you. However, when recruiters ask for approval on a package it's always a stronger case if they include documentation (ie RSU, competing offers, etc). Generally, if your numbers are competitive you should share. If not your alternative if to not share and bluff. However, the common assumption is that people who don't share don't have competitive numbers which results in a lowball. For large tech companies most recruiters are well aware of the general range your numbers will be in. They have access to Blind and levels.fyi like you but also keep an internal database based on many thousands of interviews. When you don't share they will just take the lower side of the median.
Thanks. That helps!
Never share anything. If they really want you they will not ask all this. If you provide you are considered weak and will be surely low balled
