Base: 230k Bonus: 25% of base (58k) Sign On: 120k/3 Additional bonus: potential for 40% of base, based on annual performance (could be 0 if I perform at level -- meant for high performers). Edit: all cash! Samsung semi doesn't have stocks Location: Austin Yoe: 9 What do you think?
Great offer. High end
Base n bonus is pretty good for 9 yrs experience. What level is the position? Sr staff or principal? How about sign on bonus ?
Sr staff. Have PhD. Sign on is 120/3
Ask for a sign on cash bonus as well which is meant to make you whole for the loss of any bonus you’d be losing from your current place or rsus that might be vesting soon. Other than that, it looks like a good offer.
My post says: sign on: 120k/3. It's all cash. Samsung semi doesn't have stocks.
Oh ok, so that’s split over 3 years is how you get it ?
Which group ? Gpu . I don’t know how stable that group is
How about the offer, though?
Offer looks good, but remember that the GPU team is a carousel and be prepared for anything if you do accept it
U will hate the culture there
You will hate the culture. Pay is good that is the only thing good. You will make no decision in US. Worst culture of all companies in US.
How come?
You probably can’t stand the work culture. Prepare to bounce out in a few months.
Why? Can you explain?
Everything is driven from Seoul. You need them to sign off on anything that you think of. You get a “No” without any reasoning / justification. You do not question your boss and show them the utmost respect when you meet / talk to them.
That’s pretty good money! But yeah I’ve heard they’re not so good to their people. The culture is Korean, not American.
The whole team I'm on is American, so I hope that helps.
