Here is an initial offer from Samsung GPU team in bay area. (Senior engineer level) Base: 155K Bonus: 15% Sign on: 25K Relocation: 23K Retention bonus: 75K (at end of 2nd,3rd,4th year) (To match unvested RSUs) Current TC: 160K (non-bay) Yoe: 6 Is this initial offer good for my yoe and to move to Bay Area? Also, I was expecting they would offer staff engineer role, how important is the role/level in Samsung as no refreshers involved? Which compensation should I definitely negotiate and get more? Thanks in advance. #intel #hardware #offer #samsung #apple #fang
This is a poor offer.
How much do you think I should get for this position in Bay Area? Which compensation should I negotiate more?
I know someone who has 2.5 years of experience and got grade 6 at intel - 158k base - 105k / 3 years RSU, 50k signing bonus. With your profile your TC should be 230k at least.

Don’t move to the bay unless you’re making 500TC. Find a remote position at a company that pays one band, live in LCOL area.
Agree with this
I’m not sure if a hardware engineer with 6 yoe can get 500TC, unless we switch domains. But I appreciate your response, understand your point
