Hi, I just moved to San Diego for a new job. My office is located near UTC. Currently I am looking at 2bed 2bath places and SoFi Highlands complex in Mira Mesa caught my attention. Is this a good neighborhood, in terms of safety, quality of life and convenience? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. TC: 160K
It’s not a bad area but I didn’t enjoy living in Mira Mesa (mid 20s). Traffic might give you a 30-40 minute commute, mine was 45 mins from Mira Mesa to UCSD. It gets a lot hotter that far inland, and there’s definitely less to do. Most people I knew were in downtown or ocean beach so I ended up driving a lot

Mira mesa traffic during business rush hour is legendary. Drive at the hours you would leave at the times you would leave before you lock yourself in. I did this exact thing and also work in UTC. Tierrasanta would be a much better drive but to each their own
Google maps shows about 20 minutes during 8-8:30 AM in the morning? Is it actually worse than that?
Use a desktop browser , does it give you a big standard deviation. For example 15-45 minutes? There will be days with 45 minutes
