I’ve never understood some people’s whining about “urgent housing demands” while at the same time supporting massive immigration.
Exactly, kinda how the same “choose life, anti abortion” squad votes down every bill to pass paid leaves or paternity leave as a law… strange indeed.
Indeed- One actually need brain to put those two together
San Francisco is working on up zoning proposals for the entire west and north side in order to create capacity required by the HCD to keep its housing element compliant. But zoning and capacity is just a small part of the problem. The main issue is that new developments are not financially feasible (and a drop it rents make it even less feasible). A large portion of the current developments is publicly funded as the developers don’t have any incentives. HCD is also looking into San Francisco’s variety of fees on construction and permits. A meaningful reduction in those fees may help a bit but that reduces revenue for affordable housing development too.
Bunch of funking landlords doing market speculation while cosplaying as politicians
