In my offer letter it says I have a bonus of 10k a year. Is the bonus guaranteed? TC: 70k
Not unless they give it to you with each paycheck. If it’s given in a lump sum, it could be reduced. It just depends. At Amazon, you get your bonus with each paycheck, so it’s never reduced. I worked a one company (unicorn) that gave bonuses in April. In 2020 our bonus was reduced because of the pandemic. So it really depends.
8 years in SAP and always got more than 100%
This 👆. That’s one thing is guaranteed in SAP.
When you say more than 100%, does it mean if your offer says $10K for example (10% of $100K offer), you got more than $10K in March?
I received 20% more than guaranteed bonus because company made profit. This year they changed some policies in bonus but in SAP it’s almost 100% guaranteed that you will at least receive the promised amount
It's 60% determined by company performance metrics and 40% determined by your performance. Not guaranteed, although historically its been difficult to get below target bonus unless you're a poor performer.
