Satya tweets support for Mira Murati and OpenAI

Not one word about Altman. https://twitter.com/satyanadella/status/1725656554878492779 As you saw at Microsoft Ignite this week, we're continuing to rapidly innovate for this era of AI, with over 100 announcements across the full tech stack – from AI systems, models, and tools in Azure, to Copilot. Most importantly, we're committed to delivering all of this to our customers while building for the future. We have a long-term agreement with OpenAI with full access to everything we need to deliver on our innovation agenda and an exciting product roadmap; and remain committed to our partnership, and to Mira and the team. Together, we will continue to deliver the meaningful benefits of this technology to the world.

Microsoft Stubborn! Nov 18, 2023

He's a very emphatic person. Btw, he does have time to speak about cricket and India's semifinal match.

Empathetic not emphatic. FFS!

Microsoft Stubborn! Nov 18, 2023

Come, join Microsoft and you'd understand he's more of an empathic person with no empathy.

> We have a long-term agreement with OpenAI with full access to everything we need to deliver That sounds more like, based on our contract we have everything we need regardless of who’s in charge

Amazon BoringJeez Nov 18, 2023

Very weird wording.. ‘long term agreement with full access to everything’, this sounds very suspicious, especially if the info about OpenAI board kicking Sam Altman out for aggressively monetizing is true. This is almost like Microsoft saying even if OpenAI changes course, we have everything we need.

It's a CYA tweet. MSFT stock could be impacted due to this so he needs to front run it

Hope Altman pulls off a Steve Jobs move and whoops nadella's a$$

Personally, I was under the assumption that OpenAI's success is largely attributed to the research team, not to Sam in particular.

I don’t get attributing the success to the research team. Everyone pretty much seems to agree that Google (and Meta) has had on par research teams and better total resources for a long time (only after the chatGPT success has there been a clear brain drain happening) but failed completely in shipping an actual product.

In the corporate world, friendships are primarily transactional in nature.

Makes sense for Microsoft get rid of Sam and Greg to install puppets they can easily control. Who is easier to control? Sam the next Steve Jobs who raised millions at 19, ran YC for years and co founded OpenAI? Greg the prodigy who dropped out of MIT to become the CTO at strip before cofounding OpenAI? Or Mira? Now with all openAI founders are out, Microsoft basically owns OpenAI.
