How did you have 500k in 401k? Max pre tax is 19k, 10 years is 190k.
It’s not sitting in cash. 10 years back stock market was 3x lower than it is now

You may have too much in cash. Six months of expenses is the cash rule. Put the rest in a bond fund to balance your portfolio
Too much savings, go buy something dude. BTW it's not much compared to Bay Area housing
