Scala is a confusing mess, go is stuck in the 60s, do yourself a favor and pickup Kotlin.
Scala is painful to work with. If you're open to learning a non-JVM language, Go is the way to go, maybe even Python.
Why is it painful to work with ?
Probably because there 1000s of ways of doing the same thing in Scala which makes it difficult to work on a shared codebase without very strict guidelines.
