Evaluating a couple of offers between the 2 companies. YoE= 5 years Scale AI Role: Product Ops Salary: $155-170k Equity: option value based on current strike ~$600K over 4 years (exc cost to exercise) Location: SF Spotify Role: Sr Manager, Subscriptions Salary: same Equity : $120K over 4 years Location: NYC I really like the scope of the role at Spotify and it’s a product I use everyday (I’m a bit of a music and podcast geek). Enjoyed my conversations with the teams at both and love what I’m hearing about the culture, perks at Spotify. Would require me to relocate from SF to NYC next summer. Main concerns with the former are concerns about burnout, WLB raised on Glassdoor/Blind. On the other hand, company seems to be doing really well and the equity could be worth a lot. Are the burnout/WLB issues factual? #tech #strategy
doesn’t spotify have permanent WFH policy? are you able to work EST hours even if you live in SF?
I’m also interested in Spotify but wouldn’t relocate from CA -> NY so please let me know. or maybe it’s just that since you’re going for a manager role it’s not WFH?
They do have a Work from Anywhere policy but there are certain teams/roles where they’re not as open to it yet
What did you end up doing? How are you liking it?
Scale will get you rich. It's gonna be really big. I'd take that, Spotify is always going to be there
Isn’t scale just bundled mechanical Turk? What’s so good about it?
I got the same feeling. Except that Brad Porter is CTO now.
