Which schengen country’s consulate is the fastest to get a schengen visa? Any advise or experience shared on applying for a schengen Visa would be appreciated. Are there any in Seattle? From my research none in Seattle gives you a visa and you have to fly down to SF for it - Is that true?
Usually you need to get schengen visa from the country which is your main destination and if you are spending equal times in multiple countries then get it from the country where you are landing
I understand that, but this is for a tourist visa and I am trying to check which is the fastest embassy I can get a visa and based on that I’d be planning my trip!
Ah that’s kind of sad unless you are in a time crunch. See which embassy is closest to you. I have applied to Swiss, German and French in the past and they all responded very quickly and they are all in NYC to which I am close
Always Belgium
I’m wondering how easy was it to get an appointment date for Belgium?
I couldn’t find any consulate for Schengen visa in Seattle either. I had to go to SF as well. I’ve heard that if you have biometrics done within the past 5 years, you can just mail your application. Many of the countries process visas through vfs global which is a shitty Indian company. In general the process is fast, it’s about 5-10 businesses days.
Yeah! The problem is I am unable to find dates for appointments in the next two weeks, I plan on traveling mid June and was wondering if I am already late!
It’s from UAE actually 🇦🇪 And it’s a hit or a miss company. I had heard terrible reviews online but each time I went, I had a good enough experience and mainly the process is more streamlined and much faster. Earlier each counsel had to take care of granting visas directly and due to understaffing and lack of knowledge across the board, the whole process would be slower and cumbersome
Not a blind question dude use quara
I think all embassies require to be there in person and schedule an appointment. And none of them issues visas in Seattle, they all require flying to San Francisco. In my experience France is the easiest embassy to get a visa. If you have to go to San Francisco, apply to the French embassy.
The earliest dates I see for the French is 21st May and my travel date is 14th june, do you think that should be fine?
They generally send your passport back after 2-3 days. 1 week in the worst case. So you will get your visa before June. And it is advantage to go to bigger embassies because they process visa requests pretty fast.
You can get a visa from the Netherlands embassy by mail. No need to go in person. Takes about a week
Does this hold true for non-US citizens?
Yep. US citizens don’t need a visa (assuming you are talking about a tourist visa and not a work permit)
