Scr**d me Snapchat

Screw you Snap folks? I prepared hard for Google / Fb style on-sites and now just before my onsite interview Snap told me that they will give some bullshit project (whole day) onsite. It seems Snap wants to experiment its new interview process now for 2018. Leetcode you are doomed again #deathleetcode Fed up of the games played by companies at the last minute.

Snapchat snapwomb Mar 5, 2018

You must be interviewing in NYC. Their interview process is awesome and I've only heard good feedback so far. Good luck!

Does SF office interview like this too?

Snapchat Cheetah4ev Oct 8, 2018

Snapchat rwG32b Mar 13, 2018

idk, op. the way you come off in this thread makes me hope we’re not future coworkers though. still, wish you the best :)

Apple 1ncognit0 Mar 5, 2018

That sounds way better than white boarding leetcode solutions.

Qualcomm TryHarderT OP Mar 5, 2018

I love Leetcode just should be personal choice

Apple 1ncognit0 Mar 5, 2018

If they want to evaluate how you work why would leetcode skills be relevant?

Amazon Hiak Mar 5, 2018

Wow, that's even better. Why Leetcode if you can convine people you really know how to code via project?

Oracle smhT28 Mar 5, 2018

It sounds like they scared someone who can only code on whiteboard.

Wasted too much time on leet code and bit enough time on actual skills it sounds.

Microsoft YrHP68 Mar 5, 2018

What was the question and how much time u got ?

Qualcomm TryHarderT OP Mar 5, 2018

Actually skills to deliver Live projects are honed in a week or so after joining the company based on the code Base and tools.. Not just on day 0... screw it

Google jghyrh Mar 5, 2018

Obviously, you won't have to learn their infrastructure and internal systems for your interview project. Relax! Ask them about what kind of system setup to expect, what languages you can use, and if there's a specific domain for the project. I think this is a neat idea. Amazon was/is experimenting with this kind of interview as well, except it's a group project. They've had some good success with it, from what I hear. This kind of thing might be the wave of the future. :)

Qualcomm TryHarderT OP Mar 5, 2018

Future wave will be only AI and top 100 super human Engineers work to create the future tech. Eventually normal humans will be ruled and made obsolete by super human gene

Qualcomm TryHarderT OP Mar 5, 2018

They actually used to give laptops last year over whiteboard

Qualcomm TryHarderT OP Mar 5, 2018

Lots of ex-Microsofties in the team I interviewed

Microsoft CAP- Mar 5, 2018

What’s wrong with that? Were they assholes or something?

Qualcomm TryHarderT OP Mar 5, 2018

No it’s generic comment. Just an observation.
