Hi blinders, I was wondering, how often are these Backlog refinement meetings held in a sprint? My team follows two weeks sprints and has Backlog refinement meetings 5 times per sprint. Each meeting goes over an hr. I often feel these are too long and my PO discusses too much stuff, unnecessary details. Keeps discussing same stories over n over again n again, Is this the norm? Seems like i am the only one bothered by it. TC: 200K YOE: 5yrs #nuance #microsoft #scrum #agile #engineering #software #swe
We have one backlog refinement per sprint, and we do that right before sprint planning so we know if there's anything important in the backlog that we need to work on for the next sprint. Doing this any more often is pointless.
Is your sprint two weeks or one week?
They're 2 week sprints. We had a hard time during refinement when our backlog was extremely long (around 200 items), now we've managed to prune it down to around 40, and we usually spend less than 30 mins going through them.
I hate scrum process. So much waste of time in meetings
Seriously!! Such a waste of time
